don't take life for granted

Many of you followed my man cave garage build and one of the items I documented was the installation of the garage doors . My neighbor has a garage door business and it just made sense to use someone " just around the corner " . Two weeks ago at the age of 41 he had a heart attack ! He survived the attack and they installed two stints . Unfortunately he contracted an infection and suddenly they had to place him on dialysis . I found out yesterday that he passed away Sat. night What a gut punch , 41 years old with a wife and two young children . He had a thriving door business and always a smile on his face . Man this sucks ! So if you happen to be having a cocktail today/tonight please take a second and toast to Jason . I only knew him briefly but he was one of the good guys .

Life taught me this lesson a few years back ,loosing my daughter, good friend, and neighbor all within a 12 month span, all to cancer .
Enjoy it while you can, and make your mark now .

It always seems to be extra painful when someone younger than yourself dies unexpectedly. Vic was one of my co-workers 30 years back started getting back pain. He was in in late 20s and totally healthy. The pain got worse and after several doctor visits he was no better. Finally they went to a different doctor and discovered the issue was kidney cancer. Vic was dead in under a year. That one hit me hard.

Excellent reminder for all.

Seems to be one of the most important things to remember in one's life - to realize tomorrow is not promised to anyone.

Thank you rfuerst and condolences on the loss of your friend.

My good friend is on life support after suffering a arterial aneurism. He hasn’t regained conciousness three days after the surgery. Looks like he is brain dead. Decisions will have to be made today. My son was very close to him and it’s hitting him the hardest. We all get smacked in the face at some point in time.

Look back fondly on the time that you knew him. No less pain, but can help to mitigate it somewhat.
41 is WAY too young to be leaving this world.

My condolences.

Well, you're retired.

On a serious note I fee badly also for the family. This is why business owners should have life insurance.

My wife and I try to walk a mile every day for the exercise . Our normal route takes us past their house . About 3 weeks ago as we were walking Jason pulled along side of us in his truck . As usual a friendly hello and a smile . We chatted for a minute or two and went on our merry ways . That was the last time we saw him We all know that death is part of life and it happens to everyone . But when it happens like this to a young man with a family , an honest and hard worker it's hard not to be slightly bitter it wasn't some POS low life . But none of us controls fate/destiny . I appreciate the kind words from all of you but I think I'm going to just let this post slip away .........

Sorry for your loss, and I will toast Jason this evening.
As I have posted, my sister is a cancer survivor thanks to hemp oil, but yesterday she reminded us that she is on Borrowed time, by giving me the hat she wants me to wear as a Pallbearer when she passes. She wants everyone to wear Black cowboy hats, and presented me with mine, and one for my mother. There are no guarantees other than none of us get out alive.

Sorry for your loss
A friend of mine lost his son last year. Jack was 23. He had a massive heart attack. My friend was gutted. He was a good kid, I remember snowboarding at Whistler with him when he was a teenager.

I recently got into the final expense insurance sales business. My very first phone call in this job got me an appt. with a woman who was HIV positive and terminal. I got another one of those a week later. I don't go a day without talking with someone who's really, really on borrowed time, to say nothing of the folks who die unexpectedly in accidents. I kinda think the latter are the lucky ones. It's a blow to their loved ones, but the dead person never saw it coming. Some of the horror stories I've heard in just the last month really make me think.
