Giants fan beaten at Dodger opener....

In another thread I was ecstatic about the Dodgers beating the World Champs on Opening Day......I called it a good day. It wasn't.

Unfortunately, a pair of Douche Nozzles felt the need to beat down a Giants fan wearing his "colors". The descriptions show that they were a couple of bangers.

Giants Fan Beaten at Dodgers Game Remains in Coma, Reward Increased to $100,000: SFist

$100K REWARD, the fan is in a coma and the prognosis isn't good.

I flat out abhor sports violence.

I personally can't stand the Giants or the 49ers and SF fans in general but only in a friendly rivalry way....but I would like to apologize from the bottom of my heart for this incident.

Violence of this sort can not be tolerated.....unfortunately like any terrorist event, the good people suffer.

I hope if they catch these guys that they take them out and put a bullet in their asses five minutes after they have their fair trial.

Hopefully by a jury that was a little smarter than the OJ panel.

This whole incident makes me ashamed of being a Dodger fan and a CA native......this totally sucks.

The last Dodger game I attended was about 2 or 3 years ago. The vibe was really negative and I vowed never to set foot in Chavez Ravine again, especially with my family. The quality of the fan has mirrored the quality of the players imho. Classless thugs now permeate all of professional (and lower) sports. Taunting, staring down, showing up opponents, etc...all bs. Baseball died when guys like Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripkin retired.

I lived just down the road from the Stadium. My Dad had access to season box seats. I went to see the full era of Garvey, Lopes, Sax and Cey.......I was there when Drysdale did his thing. Wes Parker was my hero.....I'll miss those days.

One of the last family owned teams......all went down the crapper when the O'Malley family sold out. Prices went thru the roof, the quality of snacks went to the cellar as did the quailty of play. They became the Clippers of the MLB.

I see they hired the former LAPD Chief to beef up security. The Gestapo has arrived. I'll never step foot in there again. A few ruin it for the rest of us.

The perps were described as male latinos, early to mid 20's, shaved heads, tattoos on their necks.

Boy that really narrows it down, we only have about a million fine upstanding citizens that fit that description on So Cal.

Dodger fans are the new raider fans.

Why Joe Bob, your thread is touching. I didn't know you had a kind and emotional side.

Yes, pro sports has become nothing but trash. You could even argue that premise about pro golf. But what goes on in the parking lot and in the stands at a Dodgers game is nothing but ghetto. Anaheim ain't much better.

And to think that the powers that be are wanting to build an NFL stadium in downtown freakin' LA. What are they thinking? That there will be a row of Donald Trump suites? (Not that he has any class of his own.)

Television is where it's at. And the TV director is very good at not showing the trashy setting.

My solution was to just quit following/watching sports. The only thing I regularly watch is F1. I watch a couple of basket ball playoff games if the Lakers are involved, and that is about it. Too many other things to do/see rather than give tacit approval to the thuggeries that now pass as sport.

Todd, when you get a chance drive South to Petco with the boy for a day of Padre baseball. Yes they (Padres) are not that great but as long as the Dodgers are not the opponent it will be MLB as you remember. Or even better, head to Lake Elsinore and catch a Storm game. Nice facility, great $$ bargain, and exciting ball.

My step son works with the Bryan who was beaten, they held a fund raising bbq yesterday and so far have raised $140,000, attended by many of his co workers and emt guys from far and wide.

Here's the link which updates his progress and also details how you can help support his medical costs if you feel it's something you might to like help out with. Donations can be made online or mailed.

Let's all hope and pray he pulls through.

I use to work there selling Coke and Cool-a-cool during the the Steve Garvey days. I was 14 and lie about my age. I even work the World series. It put a few needed bucks in my pocket. I wouldn't want to step foot in any football, baseball, or basketball stadium around here. Too many low lifes go to the games and ruin it for the families. Too bad the gang banger type are all over the south land. I am so sick of the type. You look at them wrong and they immediately want to fight.

I live on top of the hill in those dead end streets in Echo park off Sunset near Stadium Way. We walk the dirt path down the hill to work after school when there's a game. Where did you lived?

When they catch the perps (which they won't), the perps will say that he said some derogatory racist remark, and they will walk. Yay, America!!!

Yeah, that's a really sickening story that's been in the news all week. It has bothered me on a very personal level and I'm assuming that most other people feel the same way. The only good that will come out of it is that (hopefully) they are going to give Chevez Ravine a badly needed enema and really lean hard on anyone acting thuggish. We can hope...

Sports hooliganism is unfortunately a worldwide problem and the schitbirds are all the same other than their varying ethnic or national makeup depending on the location. Soccer fans in England are actually the worst for this sort of thing. Since we're in SoCal, most of the bad actors look like the guys in this assault. It's a culture that needs to be crushed. And I'm referring to the behavior.

Directly related. Petco is reviewing security for the upcoming LA vs SD series here in San Diego...

Petco Security Bolstered

I have been to a few Dodger vs. Padre games here in Petco and can attest the blue crowd is (mostly) not family friendly. It's like the Raider nation decided to wear blue. So sad.

Anaheim stadium is at least 10 years behind dodger stadium on the social and moral decline scale.
It's going downhill too just like all of So Cal, but as a slower pace. Pretty soon it'll all just be north TJ.

I have so many great, unsullied memories of Dodger games at Chavez, and I was always a Giant fan.

It was a phenomenal place.

Why isn't the Dodger organization stepping up with a BIG contribution to help cover this man's medical bills and help out his family? He will probably never be able to work again and his family will need help. Why have none of these multi-millionaire ballplayers come out with statements condemning this appalling behavior? And while they're at it, how about a contribution to help with the mounting medical bills? If a few of the big "stars" on the Dodgers kicked in $10K each, they wouldn't even miss it. That's just chump change to guys like Furcal and Kuroda.

This is really sickening...

I haven't been to a Dodgers game in years...

Wife has never been so I bought tickets to one of the Diamondbacks games in May.

Wish us luck.

(We will be taking the bus to the game and at least avoid the parking lot)

I lost all interest in the "stick and ball" sports almost 20 years ago. Nothing but a bunch of overpaid, crybaby, gangsta wannabes. I was pleasantly surprised how many of us actually sheered the Sonics leaving Seattle. One down, two to go.
