The Dirt---wow that is awful
Was a big Crue fan in the early days. Some great tunes for sure. Loved Girls Girls Girls, Theater of Pain, etc. Not so much a fan that I'd read a book about them but surely enjoyed the music.
Well I figured I'd check out this new Netflix movie about them. I got 1/3 of the way in and just couldn't take it any more. There was nothing redeeming about it at all. I mean even as a cheesy 'fun' flick it is terrible. |
"Never meet your heroes" has some merit. They will never live up to the ROCK GOD mantra.

My wife was running down the high lights for me. She described the first scene with the drenching. I am glad I watched the Astros game instead.

ummm….
I'm going to take a wild A guess here in real life they're a bunch of obnoxious pinheads? |
Hah, watched it over the weekend.
We enjoyed it. About what we expected from a bunch of egotistical young guys with lots of money for drugs and girls. The direction was interesting. Not a lot of effort put in to injecting drama into situations for cinematic benefit. More like someone just followed them around with a video camera and captured a day in the life. It's was parts cheesy, gratuitous, narcissistic, overboard, but that's what they were. Their marketing guy, who was a partner of mine in another business till he screwed us and the client, was not mentioned which pleases me because he's a piece of **** and needs the money so glad to see he got nothing.:D |
Better to watch the Stones in Ole' Ole' Ole' on Netflix
The Dirt was the worst I've seen |
Haven’t seen it and probably won’t. Was never a fan and find absolutely nothing about them interesting. Everything they did and represented was done before and better, including the debauchery.

Great movie for 80s rock fans.
I learned a ton about a glam band I was never that into. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tnk7vTEfZ4c" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
What I found entertaining was the narration and perspective of each band member.
Overall, I thought it was an ok movie. It was what I expected it to be. Some cheese, some artistic creativity, skewed facts...the usual. |

Yeah, it was a Pantera, not a Vette |
I thought it was decent. meaning it was about what i expected it to be.. I follow Tommy and Britney on IG, so its cool when she makes him do childish things for her stories.. lol.

We watched it the other night on Netlix.
Frankly - I kind of enjoyed it. Wouldn't watch it a second time and it will certainly not win any awards, but I did enjoy it. Then again, I also watched This is Spinal Tap when it first came out in the theaters - LOL! angela |

The big bands of the 70's all thought it was about them because a lot of the content was derived from stuff that actually happened. The Stone Henge debacle was actually Black Sabbath but the situation was reversed. They had this massive intricate set that did not fit inside most of the venues so they ended up just using random bits and pieces when they could. "These go to 11" . Still cracks me up. |
