Brother color laser. Never had an issue with it, have yet to replace a toner cartridge after nearly a year with two kids in school and a wife who likes to print. Cost per page is nonexistent compared to the POS HP inkjet.

I'll never own another HP.

Looks like Epson and HP block the use of 3rd party ink cartridges.
Bad sportsmanship.

I've been using a Canon MX310 for about 12-15 years I'd guess. It has chewed through forests without a hiccup.
Nowadays it's used maybe once or twice per month.

Ink for $22.99 and refills at Costco for $10.99

My next one might be laser.

I bought a color laser printer, scanner, fax machine, copier combo unit from Dell (E525w). It was 160 bucks or so. And it is a Apple compatible wife printer. So something my wife wants to print with from her iPad, and just press a button, and out pops the print.

I make one or two copies per year, and have actually had to send a few faxes (all to my CPA) and it is a nice enough unit for light home office use. The only pain in the butt is the only way to load paper is with the tray. It does not have a single page feed. So if I want to print envelopes, it is a few extra steps but quite doable.

Forget inkjet. They give you the printer, and make money on overpriced ink. The Gillette razor mode of business.

I post the same question about 2 years ago.....Glen tells me to get a Dell E525W....I did..........Very happy and love the wireless printing feature....Also, look up "Levi" from Denver on here.......He's in the business and was kind enough to let me give him a call..........

+1 for Brother. I only chose Brother because it was linux friendly but it is a nice printer.

Phew, it is always nerve wracking to recommend a product. Glad yours has done as well as mine.

I had to get it when our company was audited by the IRS. I used over a ream of paper and made copies, faxed and scanned lots of documents. It was easy to use. And the auditor said everything is fine, no change to the return needed.

is laser printer good

McLovin 04-10-2019 03:36 PM

I just got this $99 laser printer.
Seems good so far. Easy setup, wireless print from phones and computers, bunch of other features I’ll probably never use, at my home print rate the toner will probably last 5 years.

Picture not showing up?

Anyways, from Amazon

Another vote for Laser.

I really like Brother printers for B&W, toner is very cheap. And believe it or not, Dell for color, again, inexpensive color toners.

Check toner prices before you buy a laser, I've thrown away printers because the toner is more expensive than a new printer.

Another plug for Brother. We have 3 B&W's in our office. 2 multi-function, and 1 not. Our main printer is an MFC-8910DW, which is just over 4 years old, and just passed the 100,000 pages printed mark, trouble free.

I tossed my HP Laserjet V a few years ago--not because it broke, but because I ran out of toner and found that HP no longer made new toner cartridges--they'd been discontinued for 10 years. I bought a new HP laser printer with much smaller toner cartridges, it took me 5 year to empty the one that came with it and I'm on my second one.
