				Audi a6 tdi owners?

I've long been priced out of the 911 market so went the BMW M5 route for a year. It's time to sell my 2003 M5 {I think}. The car that tweaks my interest is a 2014-15 A6 TDI. I've done some research and can't find too many down sides.

I owned an '06 A6 6cyl. quattro and it was capable and comfortable, even with a beefed up suspension. I'm looking for some feed back from any owners to validate my research. I've great trust in the people here. Thanks in advance. Paul.

I would expect that they have been converted because of the TDI cheat issue. We have a ‘14 Q7 TDI, and it has been done. Be aware that the owner received monetary compensation to have the “fix” installed. Also be aware that there is a significant warranty extension applied when that happens. For example, our engine and emissions are covered until 2024 or 120k on the clock. I have seen the particulate filter light come on a couple times - and it’s going to the dealer next week to get that issue dealt with. I’m glad it will be on their nickel - as this is not a cheap thing to repair.

Our vehicle has been great so far. It’s my wife’s car - and she loves it. |

			I’ve got a 2016 A6 3.0TDI with 180kW. I love it.

Amazing fuel economy for a car that size and power. Only downside I can think of is that I have the “S-Line” pack which means lower and stiffer suspension so the ride can be a bit jiggly which goes against the refined nature of everything else about it. It’s has tremendous torque and a really flat power curve so between 1000-4000 rpm it just goes. Redline is only around 5200 from memory but there isn’t much to be gained from revving that high. They face-lifted them around 2016 (different front and rear bumpers and lights and interior changes like better MMI and gps map in between the gauges on the dash. Try to get the face lift model. |

I think modern diesels are overburdened with emissions controls. I guess it is necessary to run clean but it just adds too much stuff that can break. My TDI golf had a cracked DPF at 80k miles or so. I would not buy a modern diesel in a car again. Gas NA with decent displacement and timing chain is what I get nowadays.
