Help Mrs Masraum raise money for Multiple Sclerosis, only 2 weeks left!

Mrs Masraum is cycling for a world that will someday be free of MS!

She has signed up the Houston MS150 for Bike MS – a fundraising ride that changes the world for people affected by multiple sclerosis. We are going the distance with our training and commitment, and I hope we can count on your support as we prepare for this incredible experience.

She's set an ambitious goal and she's almost there! She's at $800 and wants to raise at least $1000. She's only got 2 weeks left!

MS is a devastating, unpredictable disease. But money raised through Bike MS fuels cutting-edge MS research and critical services to ensure people affected by MS have the resources they need to live their best lives.

Please help her reach her goal and surpass it!

Anything, even the cost of your favorite coffee drink would help. I'd love to see the missus get more donations than me ($1021). Even if you don't or can't give, please feel free to provide our information to anyone that you think can or may donate.

National MS Society donation page for Cheryl

We've been riding 1-3 times a week and cross-training (weights and running) in preparation. We've done a couple of other group/charity rides and a group ride safety course.

I gave her a little through my company's link so it'll likely take a while until it shows up but then she'll get matching funds too. Good luck, hope to see y'all out there.

Thanks tons, David!

We'll be out there. Our team's got about 35-40 riders. We're starting from Rhodes stadium which, I think you said, is where you're starting from as well. THere will only be a few folks around that morning, so we should be easy to spot.

Good luck to her, I've donated to a friend with MS doing an event and have done this ride in Seattle a few times.

The missus has decided to write a blog (first time ever) about the experience.

In another lifetime I worked for a small mom and pop, the father had MS and he was a beast, he was out in the field working on jobs, checking crews work, checking drafting, he never stopped.

If you worked past 5PM the father and son would bust out beers they had stashed and things got really relaxed which was unusual for the place, they ran it like a prison.

Being buzzed and inhibitions were down, I said something to the dad bout carrying on like he did despite his condition. He looked me dead in the eye and said, the moment I stop the rust will set in and this BS will win.

He made it into his 80's before passing and he fought it every step of the way.

I just made a donation, I hope it helps just remember attitude is everything.

Jim, thanks so much for the donation. It's very much appreciated. Thank you for the story too as these stories and others that folks in other threads have posted about family and friends make this more personal and valuable for us. This kind of started as a bit of a impulse for us, but we've met and heard about and learned about MS and folks with MS that has made it much more meaningful for us. We're hoping that we can help make a difference.

I'll be with the NRG team at Rhodes. We get there early so we're up near the front. Come by the NRG tent in La Grange and ask for me if you get a chance. Have fun out there!

masraum 04-23-2019 07:14 PM

Will do. We're leaving from Rhodes as well. I'll look you up in La Grange. I think our tent is on the opposite side of the street from the main area.
