When I'm working at home I usually take ~25 minutes to walk around the neighborhood. If its raining or I'm not in the mood I might work in the shop, do laundry or whatever. I need to get away from the keyboard for a while. When I'm in the office its work, no breaks.

I usually skip lunch depending on work, but sometimes I just drive off site, turn the phone off, kick the seat back and relax. Maybe listen to the news or even a quick nap.

Work will always be there and you need mental health time.

Depends what is happening, if busy no, if not yes.

What is good for my soul?

Not sitting in a crappy restaurant eating their crappy food. We only eat non GMO and organic as much as possible which = eating at home and making our own food all the time It is rare we eat out, so many places use sub par food now.

I am typically working, getting things done, THEN getting home to my family and spending time with the ones I truly love.

I call my wife my goddess, she inspires me, after 30 years of marriage all I dream of is getting away from my clients and spending time with her.

Imagine my disappointment this evening. We had plans to go to a cool little waterfront cafe to watch the sunset on the harbor while enjoying adult beverages, she is feeling ill so I encouraged her to take it easy and not push herself.

Saturday we have a road trip planned in the E30, we are heading to the beach (10 mins away) to quietly watch an sunrise together, then packing the E30 and heading to St. Petersburg for the day, visiting the Dali Museum, hitting up some breweries, checking into a 1920's era hotel and enjoying the city. Then we will head to the beach and watch a Sunset that evening.

After we will head back into the city and have a fun evening.

THAT is why I bust my @ss from M-F.

To spend quality time with those I love.

NOT take a 60 minute lunch that only makes my day 60 minutes longer, because it IS my problem if stuff is not done.

1 hour, sometimes 1.5 HR. I try to use the time eating with fellow workers somewhat networking time

Town I worked in after college had a "Rendering Plant"......Processed dead cows/horses/sheep/etc into dog food.......

One day roll up to the gate and a guy is sitting on a dead cow in the drive, eating his lunch.....I never complained after seeing that..........(It was a hot, smelly day)........

I need to get away from the office for a break. I almost always go out. Sometimes I meet a friend, otherwise on my own.

It’s good for my brain and my soul.

I don't always get an hour, but I at least take a break to eat. It's my opportunity to get away from my desk, read a book, or just sit outside and eat for a while. I'm at a desk all day so the break is welcome. Sometimes I'll catch up on YouTube vids.

I go up to my club and work out at noon; aerobic (pool) and anaerobic (weights) on alternate days. Then just have a sandwich at my desk.

I was going home for lunches last year, that is the greatest. I need to go back to that a few days a week. Now that my wife works here, we kind of quit doing that .
Did not even get my meatball hoagie unwrapped today, and sarah comes in the office needing her address changed, inspection sticker, and pay her bill . Took up my whole lunch break. Showed up right smack at 12:05. Every day like clockwork Ill miss it when I finally hang it up...

I’ve taken a lunch break since I started working at 13. I’ve also always gone out for lunch since I was 13. So 38 years of going out for lunch.

Fred, what you need is a break in the "restroom." When someone stops by at 12;05 your wife says, "Sorry, Fred is in the restroom." Or out test driving a car. Whatever, you're not there, you're in the back room, sitting, eating and cruising Pelican.

And then your wife politely informs each customer that you typically take a car for a test drive and pick up parts or food. Usually back in a half hour, but you never know.

"If you call ahead, I'll try and let you know the day's schedule."
