Generator gas...

So after Friday's pre-season demo and running my generator...

Do I drain and pickle like at the end of Hurricane season?

I'm expecting to need it again in the next 6 months... or not at all.

Leave the gas that is in it, add some Sta-Bil or SeaFoam and then drain and pickle at end of 'cane season?

Something else?

Thanks! Was nice having it start on the first pull when I needed it...

I'm sure experts will tell you... Personally I sta-bil what's left and let it run dry if there isn't much left. Or leave it with stabil but also run it a bit so it's all over the carb and lines for sure. I got tired of cleaning the carb/lines... If possible, I loan it to all my camping friends so it gets run several times a year.
Stabil really work - last time I did not use it, whatever came our didn't even smell like gas and it caused the mother of all cleanups..

Run it dry

I shut the fuel line off and let her run till she dies and put stabil in the tank. Owned her for 15 years.
Used it twice.

I have an old gas generator that I have had since the 90's and still runs great and never a carb issue.

Another +1 on run it dry, I take it a step further, after it runs dry and cools down, drop the float bowl down, empty it and dry it out. Leave it off for a few let any residue evaporate.

Reassemble and store it away. I give mine an oil change before storing it.

All the above but about once a quarter I start it and let it run for 10 minutes. Shut off fuel valve and run it out of gas and put her away.

Put Sta-bil or the brand of your choice fuel conditioner in the tank . Start the generator and run it for 10 - 15 minutes you are trying to make sure the fuel conditioned gas is fully in the carb . Then turn the fuel shutoff off and let it run until it quits . This gets rid of 95 % + of the fuel in the carb and what little is left over has the stabilizer in it . Start the generator every 3 months but go through the above shut down process . I doubt you will ever have a carb issue going this route .

Ethanol gas...run it dry. Otherwise Stabil....jmho.

Living in hurricane country, I break out the generator and run it once a year. Always with non-ethanol and run it for a while with/wo loads until it runs dry. I don't keep much gas around but it is always with sta-bil. Always a one pull start.

I would run it dry on some two stroke mix. Works on my snowblower.
