New puppies....

Let 'em mingle after each has had their 2nd round of shots (no worms, clean bill of health...good stock)...or wait 3 more weeks? I will take no chances....but risk seems almost zero....vet tech sez go ahead....I agree. My lab and the neighbor's golden pup wanna play....with no fence between 'em....would sure make my life easier too :).

What say ye?

Let them play and explore it's what pups do !

There is no better training you can provide a new puppy more than another dog.

Pictures or it didn't happen.....

I agree with you both. Breeder's grandson (giving 1st vac on day 49 advised me to wait until fully immunzed...2 more...6 weeks). I actually wore a mask and gloves before the 85 yr old champion breeder would let me pick my pup @ 5 wks old (learned the hard way :()....the first female he handed me....no need to pick another one up sir ;)

Vet tech says wait a couple of days after 2nd round (clean health/poop) both pups...gopher it.
There's also the 2 yr old alpha GSD (amazing with the golden pup already)....he can take over my role ....mebbe tomorrow :)

phrasing!!

Puppies that young I think the only risk is "kennel cough". Parvo and Distemper are not very common, as long as he's playing with one pup and not going to the dog park and being exposed to numerous dogs. He's a good lookin' pup!

It's cruel to post this w/o a picture ;-)

Recently did a rescue thing on a 14 week old puppy......Both adoption folks and vet said get him to socialize with other dogs right away. Been 2 months now and do that every chance I get.

Oh absolutely...at 14 wks they are immunized...no worries at all. Her poop turned color/mushy with last poop-in-da-woods...(result of 2nd vac yesterday)....when poop looks good again and the golden gets OK too...then it will happen...probably tomorrow...I'll get some pics of all three...they've been tail waggin' nose buddies for a few days now.

DonDavis 04-26-2019 11:25 AM

My golden and the next door neighbor;s dalmation played all the time from young pups on. They even learned to ring each other's door bell. Freaky, doorbell rings and theirs a dalmation standng there wagging her tail.
