Asked my kid. He said watch Infinity War first. I did. It helps. Both are really busy for the uninitiated but I loved Thor and I loved the Hulk guy, Ruffalo. He is a very good actor. I thought Thanos was a great villain. The green chick wore thin for me.

Comedy is superb. I loved the guy in Infinity War that thought he was invisible.

Iron Man has got to be the best superhero costume of all time.

I watched the first Iron Man intently. Now what is the lazy man's way to fill in the gaps?

My son says the third Thor is a must see.

Recommendations on pecking order?

I have been happy seeing them in the order that they were released. Make sure to sit through all of the credits until the bitter end, as they like to have mid- and end-credit scenes that tie into future Marvel movies.

Yeah, it was very entertaining, one of the most entertaining movies in the bunch.

That's Thor Ragnarock. I like'd all of the Thor's, but that one was excellent.

my BIL treated me to the movie.

i had two choices:

1. go shopping at TJMAXX and ROSS with wife and MIL or
2. go watch ENDGAME with BIL, his treat.

despite the fact that i really need matching pajamas, new dog toys and a salad spinner..i chose the movie.

what a GREAT movie!! on a side note..nobody throws out a sexy hip like karen gillian/nebula. wow. (vic in longmire is a very close second, btw)

it was nice in the movie how AUDI kept the shop doors open despite losing half of it's work force. :D

I have seen more of them than I thought based on the Wiki list. Iron man 1 & 2, first Hulk with Ed Norton and Antman. Many snippets of the others.

I just saw it. I LOVED it. That said, I've seen all 21 movies that preceded this. It really tied all of the previous movies together. It was a long movie, but I followed/understood all of it.

The opening sequence with Clint Barton and his family was probably the most depressing piece of cinema I'd ever seen up until that point...and then it just gets sadder from there. And then the middle is exciting, and the end is very sad again...

It's freaking stupid how the movie/TV/music industry has figured out how to mess with our heads so well. That scene was built...designed...for the sole purpose of breaking you down before the rest of the movie. The MOMENT he appears with his family, you know what is going to happen, and how. You KNOW what it is, yet when it comes it "surprises" your brain, and you break down.

Ear worm songs? Billion dollar movies about imaginary superheros? TV shows where the dad dies because of a badly wired crock pot? All ways that some dude somewhere has PERFECTED the art of messing with us. Certain rhythms, certain subjects, certain vocal cadence, certain background imagery, certain colors, all triggering some lizard part of our brain and CONVINCING us that the song is extra rad, that the TV show deserves a second episode, and that the movie is the saddest thing we've ever seen.

If a feeling conveyed by a part of a story is used as part of the story as a way to illustrate a characters mood or motivation, it isn't just manipulation. You may have the feeling and still be able to apply it to the character and not to yourself. You are free to find your own meaning and analysis, or I suppose you can just go along for the ride.

I am watching predecessors to Endgame. Thor 1 & 2. Then first Avengers.

Best action scene in all is when The Hulk bangs Loki on the ground about six times.

FWIW I am roughly half way through the MCU Avengers movies. Enjoying them.

I know why I did not continue in the way back with these after seeing Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk and the reason was Iron Man 2. It just fell flat on it's face in the 2nd act. I walked away then but recently pushed through it and the last third was good.

I will admit in these movies I am frequently confused as to why this or that gang are attacking the heros. Like, who are all of these monster like beings? May be my age or no comic book background?

Bob, I completely agree. Iron Man, the original movie, was nothing short of brilliant. Great story told perfectly. IM2 just plain sucked.

Without giving anything away if you enjoyed that Hulk & Loki scene you'll get a kick out of the 3rd Thor. :D
