Jeep's Trail Rated® badge

Any hard specs. on what exactly this means?

Gnd clearance, water ford depth, approach and departure angles, traction 'tricks' etc.

I already looked at that marketing speak link before posting.

I asked: "Any hard specs. on what exactly this means?"

I think if there were hard numbers, they'd be in the link or the video that I posted.

THe video did mention 'fording 20" of water'. It also said "there's no specific number for ground clearance, but we usually find that at least 8" is minimum" or something like that. The guy saying that stuff was supposedly a chief engineer for Jeep, so he may know a thing or two.

I've been toying with the idea of the new Jeep Gladiator pickup. Makes no sense really, since my hunting & fishing buddy died decades ago. But damn, they look cool to me. Like they'd be great for logging roads and cat trails...

sounds like Jeeps chief engineer has been eaten by the marketing people... there is also a mention of a 19" ford depth on the web site somewhere

most manfs. can get it together to give gnd. clearance, ramp angles, etc. even if the "drive modes" can't be quantified

Paul, is the Gladiator out yet?

(I have been successful at never owning a pickup, so far. You suddenly have too many "friends"...)

I read somewhere that they are trickling into dealerships. So far, all spoken for. Not a problem where I live with such "friends" Seems like there's a pickup in every other driveway..

Thanks - I may send Jeep an Email and see what they say.

I guess a "Trail Rated" Jeep isn't necessarily "Rubicon Ready"...
