Kenny's memorial was today. Standing room only with a crowd of over 110 on a weekday in a small town.

He was lonely without a travel companion. Two years ago, I suggested I line him up with this widow friend gal in his small town. Both were eager and I was to set up a lunch date. First time, he was busy and had to pass. Then, she was taking a motorcycle lesson and put a bike thru a chain link fence at a local airport. Her facial injuries took over a year to heal and she kept putting it off until she looked better. I last saw Ken 5 weeks before he died and agreed to get this set up soon. I tried, but she had a trip to DC....... My guilt is: if I had followed thru, could it have changed anything?? Dunno...RIP Kenny. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1559191438.jpg |
Bob, sorry for the loss of your friend. Nothing you could have done or did contributed to this. If a relationship was important to him, he would have found a way.
We have a friend in our vintage racing group. Guy has plenty of money and is fascinated with airplanes and often has expressed wanting to get his license. He's gotten plenty of advice to give flying a pass. We'll see if he heeds that over time as he nears retirement. RIP Kenny |
