Something for true Star Wars fans
A few companies have reimagined 911s. Someone, very talented, reimagines a classic scene from Star Wars.

I'd just watched that.
To me it made the fight look too equal, Obi-Wan intentionally let himself be found and defeated. |

Guess I don't remember the original to see the difference?

That scene was so awesome.
Millennium Falcon doing the reverse back-out and 180 turn was more powerful than Frank Poole being pimped over by HAL. To me at least. I went to the flick seven times as a 22 year old.

I saw that one probably half dozen times. Started my job at the theater the day after Empire Strikes Back came out. I could not tell you how many times I saw that and Raiders. They showed it in the theater where they had Earthquake, so they had subwoofers in there that would register on a Richter scale. Sound system in that dome was impressive, most impressive.
The production values in that clip are very good, the integrated it with the movie footage well

I hate the word "reimagined" , it just means screwing up things that were right and it kills authenticity... Singers, this... There's no need for it. Give me the original, the real deal.
Reimagining things seems to be a word for people with technical skills and abilities, but no real imagination to make something really new and creative.

^^^ I disagree. It’s like when you read a book and then they make a movie based on the book. You go into it with expectations based off of what you have imagined. And it lets you down. Then someone comes along redoes it to their vision and it’s excellent. Cover songs are another great example. There are so many great covers. The original of anything will always get the credit for being the innovator but sometimes somebody can tweak it and make it better.

Amazing how technology has gotten to the point where people can go out and do this.
At about 2:20, where Kenobi slashes the box, and hit's Darth's arm was great. Here's the extent of my cgi ability: |

Quote:
It isn't consistent with other light saber fights, more of a conversation while touching each other's sticks. Lucas instead of drawing in these light sabers, had tried to use a real physical light that the actors were holding. They couldn't be smashed into each other, and were somewhat heavy compared to future versions. It didn't turn out on film as had been hoped. They then came up with drawing on top of it, negating the need for the unwieldy fight. There is room for them to bring in the light saber moves of future films. |
