Arnett and Geraldo need to come back and go do some interviews at Paris Island.
See how long they last then. |
Re: I think it was taped !

What’s being said is the goggled-eyed Saddam speech was a taped rehearsal; as the official copy hadn’t been made. So how 'bout it you conspiracy theorists. . .did Saddam actually escape with the help of the Russians? .. .did the US nail him early, but decide to pretend he was still alive; just so the US could look for his oil? I'm standing by my original gut feeling on this. . . No self-repecting, mass-killing dictator would wear THOSE glasses for any speech he really cared about? |
Island - the eyeglasses were also explained. The film of him reading a speech while bespeckled was supposedly a trial run of a speech that he later gave, though this speech still pre-dates that Sidewinder/Cruise missile strike.
The reason it was shown to the Iraqi people was because they'd never seen it before. My theory: no one was sure the Sidewinder/Cruise missile strike killed Sadam, which is why they bombed the restaurant a couple weeks later when the U.S. heard he was still alive. One or the other probably did the man in. |
A rattled Sadam coulda made that bespectacled speech..... My guess is he survived the first nights strike.....resistance was still stiff afterwards.
The second strike either got him or he got away under the cover of his being dead.....maybe to Russia? Cause resistance was almost noexistant after the 2nd strike on the restruant. A regime like Sadams is only effective...will hold together so long as he is alive or there to direct it.....otherwise it falls apart because no one except him can instill the fear or inspiration to hold it together. Look what happened to the 3rd Reich after A. Hitler committed suicide (decent example of a similar situation + or -). |
So Iraq's security chief calls a meeting of Saddam's body doubles.
"Gentlemen, I have some good news and bad news. The good news is, our Esteemed Leader survived the bombing attack on the palace, and is alive and well! The bad news is, he's lost an arm..." |
"...one nut, and an eye."

Because that was just pure nasty. Six - what - 2,500 lb bombs being thrown down 20 feet from each other leaving a crater that looked 30-feet deep? The CNN report was maybe they could get DNA results if there was any bit of "smudge scraped up from the scene." I say again: nasty! |
