Lost a local car guy over the weekend.*

Lost a local car guy over the weekend. He and his wife are just the nicest people, Gayle is the only person I have ever met who may be as nice a person as my mother. Great kids, built an Turbo Exocet type deal with his son, whole family into the autocross scene, officer in the local SCCA, just retired from his optometry gig like 6 months ago. Kindest, most giving sort of guy you ever met.

Killed in shark attack in Hawaii, can you believe that scheisse?

Smiley shark attack

MY brother in law is a Optometrist in Roseville. He knew of him but was never close. Very sad. Hope his family will work through this.

Wow. This will make you think about living each day. I'm truly sorry.

Wow! When it's your time, I guess it's just your time. That's a real shame, but I suppose better than if it was a young man with young kid(s). I think the sudden nature would make this extra, extra difficult for anyone impacted by it.

My condolences to all.

Wow, that link had a ton of other crazy stories listed underneath, like the HS principal who went to donate bone marrow for a stranger in France and died of complications.

Our friends have a condo near this beach. Beautiful ocean, but deep as he'll and he was about 60 yards off the shore. Sad, very sad to have something like this happen to anyone.

I admit, I was thinking that 60yds was farther than I normally go when I swim at the beach.
