Little Things to Make You Happy.....Again

I posted something similar when I found NEW shopping carts but now something happened that was even nicer. If you have one post it please.

Anyways this week has been spent driving to San Diego Imaging and the lab to get wife's lab work done too. The SDI building has 8 handicapped parking places in front and they always seem to be full. Not so bad for me as I can get around but my wife is having bad issues walking even with her walker. So Monday I pull up and bingo a car is pulling out and no one waiting!

On Wednesday we go again for her mammogram and the SAME place is empty! Wow.

Today it was my turn for a cancer follow-on PET scan and the SAME place (and two others) were empty again! Same place 3 times so I looked around just to make sure there was no sink hole starting or electric lines falling or.... but no, I lucked out!

JR, you are a lucky person to be able to focus on the good stuff. that is fantastic.

as always, best wishes to you and the wife!! i hope you get all the good parking spaces.

The puppy didn't pee, puke or crap in the house today!

John Rogers 05-16-2019 05:59 PM

Whoa YOU are lucky! Unless the cat ate it?

pavulon 05-16-2019 06:16 PM

Re-mounted my turtle spinner tonight.

Had to re-locate the little guy after I used his original 4x4 for a construction project.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee.............:p

Baz, your constant positive energy and joie to vivre is a refreshing inspiration.

And John - you sir, are awesome in finding and sharing positives in the world.

Giants amongst us mere mortals. Cheers to you both!

I keep telling MrsWD her little things make me happy. She still thinks big things make most men happy and that I must be weird.

Great thread.

For me...when I take my car apart and don't have any leftover fasteners!

My 60th b-day colonoscopy was all clear.

Great thread. And great perspective!

I throw the ball for my 9 year old border collie.
The enthusiasm she displays for this simple task always makes me happy.

Mrs Gambler & I rediscovered bicycling! We have his-n-hers custom cruisers and we go to a local park nearby, cycle around 'till we are exhausted, then go down to the lake and hang out.........good stuff

It's something we both enjoyed as kids only difference now is we have a beer or two when we're done!

Strangely it does make me happy when the dog takes a big poop-poop outside.

gordner 05-17-2019 07:36 AM

I had my senior dog undergo an ultrasound due to some blood panel irregularities, and only received medium negative news not catastrophic news as I thought I would hear. He won't be with us too much longer, but he won't be in pain and has had a fantastic life, and knowing I am not losing him today has me very happy.

Dog related - we crate trained our rescue. She gets put up every night, otherwise she is up before us trying to wake us up in the morning.

I have a morning ritual with her, I am usually the one to go take her out. She comes out and heads over to the throw rug in the living room.

Then I give her the expected morning pets. She likes a good ear rub. Once she is laying on her side I give her a good scratch right above her tail, send her into a frenzy where she runs on a circle on the floor on her side. It makes me laugh every morning and the second best way to start my day.
