2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody?
Lose the black rims and put on Chrome Crager Five Spokes would look great on this blue.
larger supercharger sounds screaming sweet. fast forward through the review , but worth the watch. A wicked sound of whine and thunder. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() https://www.6speedonline.com/article...debody-review/ What's your opinion of the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody? Not too sure if those fender flares work for me. The stnd Hellcat car is already bulky huge to begin with. but good lord the power on hand and handling , makes a performance package. Jesus, this test car optioned out was $88K

I got a 392 because the Hellcat was too steep a payment for a toy. Then the deals got better and I found a good source. Damn. The 392 is strong for sure, but a friend just got a regular Charger Hellcat. Starts off strong and crazy is at the ready. The supercharger whine is intoxicating. I can't picture a Redeye being necessary and like the clean look of the Challenger without the flares, personally.

The 392 Scat Pack widebody would be the sweet spot for me.
Sounds like a widebody Charger is on the way as well. Oh, and $88k for near 800hp and 200mph+ top speed isn't a bad price.

more Hellephant please.
edit: also, the last Viper ACRs were awesome! It would admittedly be odd to be on a public road with something so festooned but still they were awesome. Last edited by pavulon; 05-22-2019 at 07:53 AM.. |

For those of you have have the 392, how has the overall reliability been on these cars?

There would be a Redeye in my garage right now if it came in a manual transmission.

You should consider the Jeep Trackhawk. Same engine but 8 speed ZF auto coupled to all wheel drive. Mmmmmm

You could get a Hellcat Widebody with a 6 speed manual, I am surprised the Redeye doesn't have that option.

Yep, the Redeye has the same trans as the Demon.

All of the Challengers can be had with the 8 speed auto. The Demon has the trans brake as does the 1320 trim. With all the mix and matching I was surprised they do't offer a manual in the Redeye. Though that is a lot of stress for the driveline to handle.

Curt, I wonder if the crate motor will fit in the Durango? Then again, I don't think I could fit enough tire in the Durango, so I would have to tub it, watts linkage...

4 reasonably wide and sticky tires w/ awd and lsd’s shouldn’t require tubs, live axle and a watts. So, if you can find a hellephant, it should be less much complicated (and much more enjoyable) once the electronics are sorted.

It is RWD with a live axle from 2000 and 192k miles.
The crate motor is available with the electronics so that part would be easy. I would drop one in the Cobra, but it would not fit unless I could adapt the current 4 speed and get a different hood for clearance. As is the drive shaft is 8" long.

Were I to buy new, I would just get the new SRT Durango, or talk to the Mopar guys about the "Speedtrap" Durango they build for the One Lap of America. Sorry, I was just thinking another 50k miles and it might be time to replace the slightly worn 318.
Actually, there are a lot of cars the crate motor would be great in. A replica Ramcharger from Lone Wolf McQuade would be an awesome sleeper with modern running gear as would a General Lee.
