Back in the stone ages of laser pointers of the early 1990s we would rent laser pointers from a local multimedia company. It was large, and expensive but a real handy thing before computers were everywhere. In those days it was a 35mm slide show before PowerPoint was invented.

Now they are 16 bucks and way more powerful than those early ones.

Back when laser pointers were still new and a big deal, I remember sitting in a large conference room for another of along line of "waste of time" meetings.
As soon as the lights went down, no less that six green and red dots appeared on the screen and seemed to be locked in a duel of some sort.
Cracked me up.

I used one of those little, red pointer lasers in the late '90s & early 2000s for workshop presentations. It was a fun tool nobody else used, & helped sometimes with making humorous points and comments.

I built a handheld laser using a laser diode in electronics class in high school.

First question: What can it burn through?

Not that powerful really.

Second Question: Can you stun stuff with it?

Like in Star Trek? Nah. It is just a mW laser

Third question: What about fish? Could it stun a fish

Sure sure, yeah, it would stun a fish...

Cool man! That's so cool. a Fish stunner...

A buddy had an old helium-neon laser and used it to play with the cat. This was late 1970's...Stupid thing weighed like 10 pounds...

How do I find it? I search for laser pointer on Amazon and I get everything from 6.99 to 19.99...

I often hike after dark on a mountain trail with houses bordering the park. Periodically, I get lit up by one of these as I'm coming down in the dark. I zoom my tactical LED flashlight in and shine it back at them. We exchange zaps for a few minutes then the laser goes dark. This has happened around 5 times in the past couple of months. I assume it's kids, but really have no idea.

They're such good fun. I live next to the airport And I always know when I've got a direct hit as the plane turns around and tries again. SO much fun for $16.

My dogs go nuts over laser pointers on the ground, they chase it like fools.

there are hundreds of green laser choices.

I have a 5 WATT blue beam, that will light a match or pop balloons, or burn designs on wood.

serious stuff, gotta wear proper spectrum lens safety googles.

true this:
I can eliminate and FRY BURN bad pest Anemones in my salt water fish tank with this puppy, thru the glass and a foot of water.

lotsa cheap green lasers out there. Green is way cool as you can see the beam. In fog, snow, or rain, it's pretty trippy to wiggle a beam around.
