2009 Mini Cooper radio no worky
A friend of mine bought this car in November. The radio didn’t work then and it isn’t a big deal for him. We were taking over the weekend, told him I’d do some research.
Looks to be not uncommon for them to fail. Replacing it does look to be a rather involved process by removing dash panels. Has any of you tackled this job? Fuses are good, radio completely dark. My reason for this is to hopefully get his phone hands free working. TIA. |

One other thing, I just replaced the Radio on my 07 FJ Cruiser, it had an aftermarket double din JVC DVD player that was very outdated.
I put in a Sony unit, that was Sirius ready and Bluetooth enabled so I can play spotify, pandora and iheart radio on when I am not listening to Sirius. I also purchased a small module that interfaced the radio to the cars wiring harness and thus keeping the steering wheel controls. I used Crutchfield for and had everything I needed in about 15 minutes of shopping. Just throwing it out there in case the radio is toast. The bluetooth on my new sony deck is as seemless as my 2014 BMW, maybe even better than it.

I don't want to be horrible, but having no radio is probably going to be the least of his problems.

^^Ha! Maybe so.
He and I talked. He’s retired, fixed income and doesn’t want to spend much at all addressing this. As I mentioned at first, mainly want to get the hands free operational. Any recommended approach tips? If the radio ends up functional as well, win-win. |
