Online Conferencing Software/Service

Hey folks, looking for an online conferencing tool/service, like Go To Meeting. Will be maybe 5-15 ppl each meeting, will need to share documents, and probably only need it for a year - this is for a volunteer activity.

Go To Meeting is $168/year for the lowest level, $348/year for "Pro". I've used it, seems fine.

Anyone know of better or cheaper alternatives?

We use Amazon Chime, works great up well over 100 people in a meeting. Also has an instant messaging that works great, has mobile support, etc.

Adobe connect is great too, has lots of features like group notes, breakout sessions, voting, etc.

If you can spend $5/mo on a linode for a year using my reference code I'll configure an instance of BigBlueButton (free/open source by google and summer of code) and handle the authentication/room creation/user invitation part free (have an old set of scripts so the job is 80% done)

https://bigbluebutton.org/

Has what you are asking for for a total internet based solution, does voice/vid cam, desktop/application sharing, document sharing, etc. Limitations are no phone call in (some of the commercial support offerings allow this) and only one presenter per room, but that presenter can pass those rights to any other user in the room.

Same software is embedded in several online course management systems including the one we use at work, and if you'd rather go for commercial hosting and support there are a half dozen options I'm aware of.

We use GTM...use it every day, multiple times for engineering meetings, PM meetings, business development, etc.

The screen sharing feature makes all the difference because it is so seamless.

We are teamed with Northrup G on two projects and they insist on Skype. There is a reason it is free. Awful.

Just started using Arkadin anywhereconference.

Not sure on costs yet, my office set it up. I’ll see the bill next month and provide feedback.

More info on chime. Looks like it’s billed as pay as you go, and capped at a flat fee if you use it a lot.

We use GTM and Skype.
One works great, one doesn’t.
I’ll leave it to you to guess which is which.

My phone provider, 8x8, they have a service. But usually, I use Zoom.

https://zoom.us/

They have a free version and a pay version

Cyclops.io is the simplest and most productive 1-click video conferencing web app that works in your browser. No download or login necessary. You can create any custom URLs for easy access to your chat rooms. Also they have White Label App made it by Clockwise. Here is a useful article - https://clockwise.software/blog/5-things-to-do-before-creating-a-white-label-mobile-app/

Yes it looks that way, but it’s also one of the easiest conferencing softwares I’ve used. And it’s cheaper than some of the more well known ones.

Webex is still the standard, but it’s not cheaper
