Whataripoff Might Come Your Way

I've been calling Whataburger, Whataripoff for years, although it's the only fast food joint I'll eat with any regularity. Once, twice a month if that. I'm not a fast food person.

The Dobson family just sold out to a group of investors, and they have plans to expand.

I called them Whataripoff because they would forget something in the order, not really a big deal, missing fries, onion rings, no cheese, etc.. Now it might live up to the name I've called them for years!:D

Oh how I miss the patty melts, onion rings, and spicy ketchup. Every time I go back to Texas I stop by Whataburger. Maybe we'll have Whataburger around Southern California in the near future!

They are pretty good. Eat there about once a month.

Around here, we have several high-quality fast food chains. Culver's. That Burger Joint. La Bamba's (burritos as big as your head....and sushi). McAllister's Deli. Portillo's.

I don’t eat much fast food either but a Whataburger double meat, double cheese with a side of fries is a thing of beauty. For fast food.

I’ve never had them get my order wrong, you must have a really lousy store near you.

Always the #2, double cheese.

I've had Whataburger in several locations for over more than 40 years, the city in which I was raised was where the term was coined. We have 2 here in our town of 25,000, one is better than the other, and I haven't even been to the other. Hit or miss.

Damned you! Just got back from Chicago, had Portillos! She said it used to be a really small place in Berwyn, or maybe it was Cicero. Great! Had McAllister's in the 90's in Oxford, MS. Only been back once since, and they are here in Texas. Sub shops aren't high on my list, but Portillo's!! Damn that's good!!

Yes! It’s my first stop when I cross into AZ

We recently got a "Carl's Jr" in Adelaide. I went with my kids...

I now call it Show Ground food. :( (as in State Fair)

I wish they could consolidate all the good fast food in one restaurant. Wendi’s Chile, McD’s fries, Burger King Whopper Jr.
when I’m at a fast food place I order the Jr size of sandwiches. I’ll get a McD’s cheeseburge, take off the bottom bun, and fold the rest in half to make a “my size” burger.

Never had a Whataburger....

Around this area....Cook-Out is by far the best. Don't go often...but...

Do NOT get a milkshake either ;)!

Grew up with Whataburger, but haven't lived anywhere near one in many years. I was very surprised to hear this news, but the family wants to grow, and this is the best way to get there. I hope they somehow are able to maintain their integrity being operated by an investment firm, but I doubt it.

Good burgers (and other items) for sure----perhaps not the best I've ever had, but a fond childhood memory anyway.

Maybe I'll buy a pair of the running shoes they sell on their website to satisfy my craving.

I lived in Houston for years but never went save once with boss. I liked Jack in the Box. Daughter made me stop in Rockwall, TX at a Whataburger driving her home to North Canton from college in San Marcos. Pretty sweet grub. Got me a hat.

It was a eerie sensation knowing I was that close to Ronnie.
