Yep....the air is thick, showers in the afternoon and it's gettin' warm...errr hot...summertime is here.

Yep, looking good for you. It's winter here :( yesterday I did a mid winter swim in the sea. It was a bit like getting smacked over the head with a rolled up newspaper, but I'm pleased I did do it.

The irony is that now the days start getting shorter.:(

Been a long, hard winter up here. Glad it’s over.

I love certain aspects of each season, but also loath certain aspects of each season.

Living on the 45th parallel pretty much guarantees four distinct seasons for me. Trouble is adjusting to the wide variance in duration of each of the seasons. The worst, ironically, is the occasional compression of Spring. Some years Spring lasts only days; foot of snow on the ground Monday followed by two-week 80° draught beginning Thursday, which happened a couple years ago.

Brutal on the plants.

Last night's low was 80 degrees in Ft Worth TexASS - fookin' nasty air that feels like yer walking around wrapped with a wet heating blanket!

I love it when the days are getting longer and the inverse is true. Today was a really nice summer day for the wife & me. We went on a hike to a local peak we'd never been to before. 9 1/2 miles round trip with decent elevation gain & loss. The plants were still semi green, but we both agreed it would soon be a hot, dry hike so were happy we did it at this time.

Been summer here for over a month. Heat index well into the 100s. Humidity out of control.
But it beats the he$$ outta COLD!!!

It's been unusually cold and wet in west central Ohio. Lots of fields are still unplanted. I think the thermometer topped 80 once or twice. Pool is still too cold for comfort.
I went to Ottowa in northwest Ohio on June 19 and it's a disaster up there. Looks like about half the fields are under water. Some fields have been wet so long there is algae growing on them.

We just ended the first 3 day dry/sunny stretch of the year this morning when it rained a bit. It's too late for the farmers who have given up, and taken the crop insurance settlements. The guy we get hay from for our horses doesn't know if he can salvage a good 1st cutting, with no gaurentee of any more cuttings this year, so he believes they will mow it, and roll up round bales for the cattlemen this year because there is no corn, or corn fodder being grown this year.

I can't imagine what a small 60# square bale will cost this year, and we use 1.5 each day of the year.

The weather for this week looks good, but not sure if hay will be cut.
