I always thought 4 way flashers were for when you are stopped in a vulnerable position.

When trapped behind a pack crawling at 25mph in a downpour/blizzard, and cars charge up at 75mph, the speed differential is 50mph.

I've seen too many videos of mass pileups.
I'd even take a ticket versus being run over by a semi.

Common sense obviously prevails.

Sheesh, using that “logic”, tailgaters are my fault. :p

That’s funny right there.

If I’m driving along a 5 lane, each direction, metro freeway at 5-7 mph above posted speed limit ( or more importantly, at or just above the current pace of traffic ) in lane number 3, AND I’m passing cars on the left, ( same way I’m being passed by a$$hats +15 over speed limit ), I’m good. And I’m not holding anyone up.

The ones that get too close need to lay off the cigarettes, energy drinks and whatever else causing their impatience. They should engage in simple math to weigh the unnecessary risks of excessive speeding and aggressive driving and its minuscule affect on actual arrival time.

I did about 15 years ago, and it radically changed my approach to traffic.
Racing is for the track, not public roads.

My opinion after being a Certified Driving Instructor for over 10 years? There’s waaaaaay more wrong with individual drivers than traffic as a whole.

That’s simply due to zero advanced training for drivers. Teaching and testing a 16-18 yr old about driving is important, but by no means stop there.
I don’t know the solution, but again, don't confuse operating a vehicle with being a good driver.

That’s like saying “I’ve been breathing my whole life, I’m an expert breather.” Then jumping into free diving to 300 feet the first time.
