Toyota Drive Cycle Help Needed

I recently replaced the battery on my 2001 4Runner and when I took it for its smog test the ODB II reader stated that the catalytic converter was not yet registering. The tester said I needed to drive it on the freeway so I Did that for 100 miles. Still not registering. Anybody got any tricks to get around the stupid Drive Cycle process where I have to drive at 35 for seven minutes then 55 for 15 then.... and on and on. There must be a factory hack or something. Thanks

You mean there is no voltage from the O2 sensor?

Try to find a friend with an OBDII scanner. It should have live data if you have a good one.

Replacing an O2 sensor is pretty easy in most vehicles that I have seen.

A drive cycle starts when the coolant and air temps are about equal. If the engine is 190, you turn it off and then restart it right away, and the air temp is 80, it wont start a drive cycle. Best to start in the am or once the motor cools down to ambient.

I run into this all the time. It is very clear to me, that OBD2 was implemented by someone in government .
I can forward you the Toyota Drive cycle once I get to work, if that helps. There is no other way. The cat monitors will eventually run if you drive it long enough , but what a pain in the arse ...

Thanks Fast Freddie btu I found the cycle. Just seems to be the most ridiculous vehicular requirement I have ever come across. I’ll just have to get up early on the 4th and run through the process.
