Trusted tire buster in Huntington Beach area?

Posting for a friend that just got an exotic, and thinks he needs a touchless mounter/balancer.

Thanks in advance.

You might check with Superior Tire (I think that's their name) over on Beach Blvd to see if they have a touchless machine. Been a while since I had tires mounted there. Most recently I've used America's Tire over on Warner near the Lowes, but I don't think they use a touchless machine.

Maybe insufficient for your friend’s needs, but I just used one of the recommended Tire Rack installers today. A SoCal mobile installer called Rubber on Wheels. They put new Conti ExtremeContact Sports on my new Panasport wheels. No complaints. Spin balanced, not road force balanced. Anyway, the number is: 951.453.2522 and their web addy is www.rubberonwheels.com

YMMV

Nearly all tire changing equipment today uses an arm that rides just above the rim edge. Just tell them the rims are $2K each if scratched.

Sorry Zeke, the wheels are one-off for a prototype to (hopefully) debut at Pebble, and a scratched wheel could derail the whole show.

Anyone else?

I can't help for Orange County but there is Performance Tire in LB. They do a lot of custom work like rubber bands on 24" rims.

Thanks Zeke.
BTW, FWIW, the wheels are made with a 3D printer - sintered alloy metals.

If I were a tire shop and knew what you just said, I wouldn't touch those. There are a lot of forces on a rim when mounting a tire. The machine grips the rim from the inside of the backset with expanding arms as you likely know. Even as the upper arm never touches the rim, the tire is still being pulled over the edge with significant force. Let's just say you don't want your hand in there.

I trust you know what you're doing with the engineering AFA road forces but those impacts to me do not equate the force of fitting a tire. Hope it all works out.
