Durametric

I bought a durametric for a 2000 boxster 4 years ago. I just bought a 2002 996 4S. Will the connector to the car fit the 02?

Yes

Yep, standard OBDII plug. There may be some minor differences in what you can read/code depending on the year/model.

+1. No, the cable will be the same for all years. The difference is the software, unless you buy the Pro version. It requires the Pro cable, which BTW I recommend. The Pro version will let you program things like turn off the seat belt sensor, execute commands in order to pinpoint malfunctions, etc. The hobby version will let you reset the airbag light and service interval, but that s sort of the extent of what you can do.

Yes it will work . Assuming you purchased the cable new and it's the enthusiest model it came with the ability to read three VIN numbers . You used one on the Boxster and will use another on the 996 . That leaves one left for future use .

Nope, this is the last hurrah. I let a friend use it on his Boxster.
Nice tool. It cost me 300 but it saved me a bunch when my air bag light went on.
