Top 5 favorite cars...
What are your top 5 favorite cars that you have owned, in order?
Mine are: 1. 2000 Subaru Impreza with USDM WRX swap 270HP AWD 2700lbs... no wing no bling. 2. 1982 Porsche 911SC for what it can become, the mechanical nature of every bit of it, and pure childhood nostalgia 3. 1988 Mustang LX, H/C/I just raw fun 4. 1994 Miata, so much charm, so much potential... all for less than a Porsche tune up. 5. 2005 Mini Cooper S JCW, so much fun in such a small package. 210hp 2400lbs of joy. |

1. '75 911S Targa - It's an adventure every time I drive it.
2. '92 Audi 100 - Super reliable, super quiet, great highway cruiser 3. '76 Audi Fox - "It's more fun to drive a slow car fast...", some days I still wish I had this thing. 4. '01 Audi A6 Avant - Will run rings around the 911, great road car, but too many niggling defects (clearcoat failure, rattles, squeeks, etc). 5. '66 Dodge pickup - Got into lots of trouble with this one...

Holy smokes, I don't even think I've owned 5 cars in my entire lifetime, combined. Either I'm not old enough for this thread, or I don't have adequate automotive ADD. Unless I start counting Mrs. Noah's cars, too. Even then, we're only up to a grand total of 7.
By far the 930 has been the most fun, but looking at our short list of candidates, the competition wasn't that tough. The only other sporting car I've owned was a 200SX SE-R.

In order of fun delivered..
1. 1965 Pontiac GTO 2, 1972 911S...a lot of fun until the fun got ruined by it's collectability 3. 1966 Pontiac GTO 4. 1966 912...my first Porsche. A '69 912 and a '70 911T followed. 5. 2009 Mustang Bullitt edition. Fast enough with it's modest 315 horsepower. Well balanced & very reliable so far. Probably my last new car.

I've driven company cars most of my life... they do not list high on the fun scale.
most fun car I've owned, my 911, by far.

Wait, I have only owned 5 cars in my entire life if I don't count my wife's cars.
So rated in the order I have had fun with them: #1 1985 911 Carrera (I still own it) #2 1974 914 2.0 #3 1986 Chevy El Camino (I still own it) #4 1973 VW Bug #5 1960 VW Bug. It was not much fun except it was my first car ever and I had fun doing anything in a car at that age. Glad you did not ask for the top 10 cars.

The order changes depending on the time in life I owned the car. The BMW 2002 is tops on the list because I bought it in High School and it was the coolest car in the world to me at the time.
1. 1972 BMW 2002 2. 1994 964 Targa 3. 1994 Defender 90 4. 1983 911SC 5. 1968 912: Had it when I was stationed at NAS North Island and lived in Coronado. Great time.

914 6 2.7 rs spec
85 911 w/Protomotive Turbo 88 e28 m5 70 mgb 2004 f350 diesel (because nothing is insurmountable) Most disappointing? E39 M5. Lots of power, lots of handling, too big and heavy after the e28.
