Seat swap

Will seats I had in my 00 box fit my 01 CarrerA 4S. The 4S has three control units on the side, the box 2.

I assume one of the controls adjusted the seat back angle. Normal Boxsters don't have that feature and I doubt the S model does either. There is a manual adjustment but since the seats are very close to the bulkhead, unless you're 5 feet tall, there is not a lot of backward slant available.

So, hook up the two that work the seat bottom and manually set the seat back angle and leave it.
I'm sure there's a hack by tapping one of the hot wires, running it through the switch and grounding it to make the 3rd switch functional.

I don't know any of this for sure. However, the seat pressure sensor should be the same on both. Same with heated seats if that was optioned. None of that fancy stuff on our 2000 Boxster N.

And then there's this

If it's not direct, it may be something that you could make work. In 2000, according to this page, there were a lot of seat options for the boxster.

Your best answer is going to be to look at the plug under the seat to see how many wires there are and if the plug matches or not.

139 Seat heating, left
340 Seat heating, right
369 2-way electrical standard seat, left
370 2-way electrical standard seat, right
375 2-way electrical sports seat, left
376 2-way electrical sports seat, right
437 8-way electrical seat, left
438 8-way electrical seat, right

IIRC, when I had my seats out there were harnesses not used. Also, I found that the factory tie wrap job was insufficient. Put a lot of miles in and it looked for sure like it would rub through and short out. This along with moving the seat back and forth every time you use the car as my wife does. Move it up to drive and move it back to exit.

That memory function listed # 537 and maybe 538 would be nice.

I believe the lumbar motors run off the same power circuit as the other seat motors, so the extra switch should not matter.
I think you will run in to issues with the seat memory unit, though, if the boxster did not have that option.
