I like it minus the panel of 1,000,000 buttons. The design looks like a F430 and new NSX had a child.

Starts at under $60k for the base model with <3” 0-60 times?

Wife wants one. I think I could rock it while I build my 911 Outlaw.

Ooops.

Well, this can be a thread for people who like big government, inefficiency, and abuse of power.

I like it.....just wish it wasnt built by GM!
No way I would own the first model year........that thing will be back to the dealer more than it sits in your garage!

With today's much advanced design technology I hope you are wrong. I figure they gleaned a lot of info from the mid engine Cadillacs with the Xtrac tranny.

I hope I am wrong also!

I just lived through a couple years with a new Cadillac.....so many miserable small problems. But 1 huge problem, the A/C smelled like something died after the first summer. I returned the car many times....damn thing still smelled when I traded. Improper drainage from the evaporator. So my confidence in GM is null.

In a time when porsche releases a 992 model with highlighted improvements including rain sensing wheel wells....and a 718 GT4 that on paper is only significantly better for carbon emissions and fuel economy, it really looks like GM has their act together. I would 100% be more interested in the mid engine corvette than a 992 carrera.

I hope so. I'd like to be able to root for GM again--it's been awhile. If one can truly be had at $60K, it will be hot competition.

I still struggle with the "icon" versus the mass produced vette.

The GPS based nose lift is cool. I hope one of those buttons is an instant geo-tag for it so when you hit something at speed you can immediately mark it for the future. I understand it can store 1000 points, which should work for my commute :)

I like what I see so far. I agree on waiting 2-3 years in. There will be significant teething issues for sure.

Know this is blasphemous to post here but.... Vette is, IMHO, absolutely the best performance for the buck. Not talking about anything but performance at price point.
Looking forward to seeing one close up and personal in the future and hearing one without a pushrod engine.
It appears GM has finally created a Vette that is a sports car and not a sports car/drag car which it was for so long.

svandamme 07-21-2019 07:46 AM

it's looks like they built a slightly uglier Ferrari on the outside
and a massively uglier interior compared to a Ferrari, which , imho has never been good at interior, the Italians suffer from Teenage Boy Racer in terms of interior design.
and the vette is worse !

Brand new Tremec DCT, not a recycled Caddy trans.

stealthn 07-21-2019 07:52 AM

Is it still fibreglass :)

HardDrive 07-21-2019 08:19 AM

This car feels like a game changer.

Not at all...with most decent 911's with comparable performance now selling for McLaren and Ferrari money the Corvette is more appealing than ever. Is it as refined? No. Given how good modern cars are compared to 20 or so years ago will you notice the difference that much? Probably not.
