Came across three doors from the Mercedes Benz dealership in Reno. All the doors in the dealership were maple, except 3 dark stained which the Germans didn’t like. After replacing the dark doors with lighter maple, I took the dark doors home and made them work into shelves and a small upper closet access door.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1563746301.jpg

The cabinet with the Royal Purple came from Michael Milkins house on the lake.

Almost done with the shelving phase. Next will either be epoxy flooring or LED lighting.

the only Porsche parts you can store on MB shelving are the ones for the Silver Arrows...

Just to add a bit of stress to your life...how will your Carrera fare after the next small earthquake with all that stuff stored directly above it?

I thought about that. The doors are particle board so, I put an oak band around the shelves that extend 1" to stabilize the stored stuff. This might not be enough and still thinking about a safety rail. I live about 5 miles from a fault line. The valley is sinking while the mountains are rising.

Looks good, I like re-cycled stuff.

I like to put a slight angle on shelves. A little higher in the front and lower at the wall.
1) If you have a earthquake things will rattle towards the wall and not fall off and ding your car or make a mess.
2) Doesn't look like yours will sag under load but many L bracket type tend to sag and angle down
when you put stuff on them.

The shelves are 1 3/4” and solid. Good to hear the stuff not likely to fall during an earthquake.

Continuing from last summer, I rented a grinder from Home Depot and ground the floor last weekend. Had to grind edges and a low spot that the grinder missed with a 4 1/2” grinder by hand. Rinsed several times. Then rinsed one more time on a weekend evening, acid etched, and rinsed on Thursday and Friday.

Applied Rock Solid Polycuramine Copper pot on Saturday. I seen some bad reviews but, decided to buy and apply the product. After all the preparation work it turned out great.

it must be a long garage (?)

It's long enough and the ceiling high enough for a 4 post lift. From front to back the floor slopes 4". I hope someone has experience to help me address this problem. Spoke to an older guymfrom Reno who installed lifts, he was going to custom build 7'-0" long aluminum ramps. They have to be that long for clearance, my Porsche only has 3 1/2 to 3 3/4" in clearance under the front valance.
