IDK, the Motley Fool is legit in my mind. I opened the article up from a search, not your link, and it's there under almost the same url and has the same text and disclosures. I think one article is a bit older by a day or so.

I’d buy stocks on these companies listed on Nasdaq. Anyone have specific info on which one would be better than the other?

Good friend of mine has made excellent money on pot stocks, my son has invested as well.

I won't due to a few memos to civil servants (my wife is one) that are odd and perhaps illegal, but no sense trying to plant a pot flag on a government bureaucracy.
Her TSP and pension are worth much, much more.

They have both retrenched a bit, moved profits but still hold their initial investments. My "Buds" investments are substantial, my son's much less so.

Do some more homework - there are firms that specialize in this market. I never provide investment advice, BTW...they can.

I bought Cronos group at a little over $7 in October, sold it March at $22 a few days before New Jersey failed to make it legal. It peaked around $23. Currently trading around $16. I think there is a future in this market.

The big boys like Philip Morris are starting to take a closer look.

That is what I thought too... I don't follow him closely but he seems to be trusted.

I don't know where to start shopping for such a thing but that is what the internet is for.

Also not sure how much $$ I need to invest to make it worth my while.

I bought some Canadian pot stocks a few months back....two ETFs...up in smoke faster than a Dead concert....(1/3 of it)...sold my pot....a first . Back in with ACB....1/3 higher than I originally purchased it 6 months ago....timing is everything....and I suck .

This is pure gamblin' $.....I'll add a bit more over time....long term a win imo....

pot stocks are risky business

Here's a tip: See if your local library subscribes to ValueLine, and go use that. They have an enviable track record. Motley Fool does not - Mark Hulbert used to rate advisory newsletters; stopped; then restarted - his quote: "among the 98 newsletters for which the HFD has data over this 6-plus year period, the Motley Fool stands in 62nd place"

*** good low expenses index funds should be your major investment - typically 80% stocks; 20% bonds - but it varies for each person

Motley Fool is good IMO.

However they do a lot of promo advertising 'articles' like the one you linked that are more like . . .driving traffic to their site than actual picks.

If you want to check it out just go to

https://www.fool.com/investing-news/

and read the articles for a while.

I have the first tier of the pay version of MF and I like it, and i've done much better than I would've if I'd just thrown darts at the CNBC ticker.

My opinion is that we are in the middle of a pot gold rush.

In Oregon where I live there are 1000's of pot heads that have tried to turn a hobby into a business. Most will lose. The legal supply is 3 to 6x the legal consumption. It is rotting in warehouses.

I think there are big dollars at stake here and sometimes questionable people behind these companies.

I have a friend in the industry who swears it is Country X organized crime.

For the above reasons I am staying away from the entire class of business.

My reasons are not ethical, but financial. I think it is an industry that is very high risk.

Kevin O'Leary, who is one of our Canadian pundits, figures it's going to take a while for the industry to shake out.

IMO pot has zero legit pharma potential. The owners of these co's are either lucky potheads or venture capital firms that aren't betting on fundamentals of these co's but rather the perceived value by the uninformed public and/or potential buyouts by legit pharma or cig co's.

understand that venture capital firms are NEVER in it for the long haul. they take a BIG cut from the company's founders and move on quickly.

invest in these pot stocks in the same way you'd invest in the local beard and man bun owned 'brewery'. for me that means not at all.

I invested due to the medicinal & CBD potential....not because of small op potheads or the recreational aspect.

There will be big winnerz and big loserz.....zzzz
