Warsaw/Krakow travel tips?
Calling on the collective wisdom of the PPOT in search for travel tips in and around Warsaw and Krakow. We're planning to be in the area next May for a few days. We've got all the easy ideas and usual suspects. We're looking for the unique and novel hidden gems. Recommendations and suggestions appreciated.

Only second hand info...make sure you do some homework on Warsaw if you haven’t.

Thanks to all for the thoughts and links - those here and those sent privately. If we find the amber room, we'll need to substantially re-arrange our travel plans to include a shopping spree at a certain museum in Stuttgart. We've spent a lot of time in and around areas in Germany that have been the subject of rumors and conjecture but no luck yet.
Lots and lots of history. We're approaching from a place of deep respect. Happy to share pics when available.
