Quick question

Hi all, What auto detailing do you use?

pwd72s 09-23-2019 12:41 PM

I use a very skilled detailer. He has won concours trophies. Alas, this won't help you because he's fussy about the cars he's willing to detail. I'm positive your car wouldn't make the cut.

GH85Carrera 09-23-2019 12:57 PM

Yea, my detailer refuses to talk to spammer or robots.

KFC911 09-23-2019 01:01 PM

I have a special formula...two parts hydrogen to one part oxygen.

I'm not like Glen's guy....

john70t 09-23-2019 01:07 PM

My detailer uses a fine brush and tire spray compound on the threads to keep them shiny.

KFC911 09-23-2019 01:09 PM

Jet Fokkin' Black.

asphaltgambler 09-23-2019 02:25 PM

Dawn for da wash, pledge for the tires / interior, Ford type 'F' tranny fluid-soaked-rag to polish the paint to a ultra high luster..............

unclebilly 09-24-2019 03:00 AM

Start with 40 grit sand paper and work your way up from there... this works great on painted surfaces, leather upholstery, glass, aluminum and magnesium wheels.

YMMV...

KFC911 09-24-2019 03:51 AM

Brake fluid is the best spot remover imo. Try a bit on the middle of yer hood before an inconspicuous location imo....YMMV.

Is this wrong :)?

sc_rufctr 09-24-2019 04:07 AM

Detailing? ... Just drive the damn thing.

LEAKYSEALS951 09-24-2019 04:50 AM

For polishing dichromium wheels, use the model XQJ-37 nuclear powered pan sexual rotoplooker.

NutmegCarrera 09-24-2019 10:38 AM

Seriously, guys....
Is there EVER a straightforward and helpful question about detailing?

Pretty soon we will discuss:
- Zymol
- Griots
- Turtle wax
- Ceramic
- Paint protection film.....

- Well set-up 944’s
- Mustangs
- ZDDP oil
- and Black Audi Wagons

I try not to let Skittles fall into the air vents.

masraum 09-24-2019 10:53 AM

Ya gotta slap it like slap, slap, slap.

But if you do, make sure it's either strawberry, orange or lemon only.

sammyg2 09-24-2019 10:59 AM

The secret is putting armor-all on the tire treads.

Don't forget the ubiquitous, yet unanswered question... "Is a Porsche 928 an exotic car?"

RWebb 09-24-2019 12:28 PM

The worst problem is to clean all the dead bugs off the car - that "Kills Bugs Fast" ad applies not just to turbos but even to my lowly 8:1 hp:lb. "car of moderation"

I use this guy to remove insects:

Also for stubborn dirt on aluminum wheels - I use oven cleaner

sammyg2 09-24-2019 12:30 PM

snow tires
