^^^ Spot on. That battery is sliding around.

Some pics.

Battery is not sliding around. Bracket and J bolt hold it firmly in place. While the hole is there for another J bolt, there is no provision for it in the body so it's a dual use/model piece. Anyway, the battery isn't moving around and since the truck only goes to Home Depot a mile away, even if it could, it wouldn't.

Third pic is the most interesting.

Isn't Titan made by exide?

Home depot? Try a return. I saw someone return old hardened bags of cement......another dead shrubs (still had the tags on them)

And test the system for over charging.

Yes, Titan is made my Exide, one reason I got it. Went to HD last night and they said 3 months is a return, anything after that is contact MFG. Should have a 2 year replacement warrantee. Label on the side said it was shipped in April of 16 but I got it last year. Have to dig through all of '18 receipts now though it might be in the Tundra folder if I'm lucky.

Still haven't heard if you've checked out the charging system...

Looks like it cooked from the inside.

I am thinking everyone who said over charging is correct and am sure Exide won't replace when I send them pics or describe what the battery looks like. Autozone is down the street so I expect a new battery will be fine to drive down and test and then put in a new alternator if needed.

First thing to go wrong with the truck in 5 years and I used to drive it a lot.

The battery in my tundra leaked acid since new. The dealer said it was normal. And I got them to show me other customers batteries to confirm it. They refused to warranty it so I bought a Costco battery and it’s been fine since. The tundra battery is now out in the middle of my field hooked up to an electric fence charger and solar panel...

Got the new battery from HD, had to kick in $20 because they no longer sell Titan but only Exide. Maybe my battery was one of many.

Anyway, put a voltmeter on it and charging 14.28 at idle up to 14.31 at 3K so my alternator is OK and indeed it was probably just a cheaply made battery.

May want to skip the brakleen in the future. Maybe just a rag or water.

I think so, yes.

Coca cola cleans up batteries pretty well
