use of Tools in the Kitchen

real tools, automotive, carpentry, HVAC, lab equipment, etc.

but NOT "kitchen tools"

That’s a bit of overkill. An axe would work as well and wouldn’t set off the smoke alarm.
I used a hacksaw before I bought a real bone saw. I keep a pair of pliers in the drawer for peeling the membrane off of pork ribs.

And definitely not this flexible, thin teflon fry pan tool.

(Usually safe for chopping food warmed up at low heat )

Great idea! You could put butter in the chain oil tank and the bread could be cut and buttered at the same time.

I keep a pair of medium size Channel locks in a junk drawer and they get used quite a bit.

Cindy uses a rubber hammer (bought new) as a meat tenderizer hammer. She swears it works better than the ones sold for kitchen use.

Medium rare, please. Maybe a little bit of crispy on the edges?

A lathe is always handy.

I have this thing in a utensil drawer in the kitchen. It's some kind of medical thing, but I have no idea what. It comes in handy for a surprising number of things.

SWMBO uses a Small strap wrench for lids.

I can’t find the pic where I used a bandsaw to cut a frozen baguette, but I did once.

Here’s one where I used MAPP gas to finish up a hard boiled egg for Passover...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1569809540.jpg

I'm a MAPP gas fan too.

GF's book club girls love to have the meet at our house because I do the best ever creme brulees. The creme brulees have that certain MAPP gas something about them :D

Sponge clamp. Also used to hold the tongue during piercing in tattoo joints.

Needle nose pliers to pull pin bones out of fish. And sometimes flat tip screwdriver to remove membrane from ribs.
