use of Tools in the Kitchen
real tools, automotive, carpentry, HVAC, lab equipment, etc.
but NOT "kitchen tools" example: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1569707576.jpg |
That’s a bit of overkill. An axe would work as well and wouldn’t set off the smoke alarm.
I used a hacksaw before I bought a real bone saw. I keep a pair of pliers in the drawer for peeling the membrane off of pork ribs. |
And definitely not this flexible, thin teflon fry pan tool.
(Usually safe for chopping food warmed up at low heat ) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1569709558.jpg |

I keep a pair of medium size Channel locks in a junk drawer and they get used quite a bit.

Cindy uses a rubber hammer (bought new) as a meat tenderizer hammer. She swears it works better than the ones sold for kitchen use.

Medium rare, please. Maybe a little bit of crispy on the edges?

I have this thing in a utensil drawer in the kitchen. It's some kind of medical thing, but I have no idea what. It comes in handy for a surprising number of things.

I can’t find the pic where I used a bandsaw to cut a frozen baguette, but I did once.
Here’s one where I used MAPP gas to finish up a hard boiled egg for Passover...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1569809540.jpg |
I'm a MAPP gas fan too.
GF's book club girls love to have the meet at our house because I do the best ever creme brulees. The creme brulees have that certain MAPP gas something about them :D |
