What? No high rollers here?

Nice looking hot rod 911SC. A car that makes sense as an air cooled hot rod, since so many SC's were made.

I believe that I have seen this car at the local C&C. I think it was fairly well done.

wildthing 09-28-2019 04:56 PM

My max bid would've been $40K.

wdfifteen 09-28-2019 05:07 PM

Don’t need another Porsche, but there are ads for a PV544 and a 48 Plymouth that would be interesting. I had a 48 Chrysler for a while. It was like riding in a cloud - a really slow cloud. 250 cI six with about 110 hp and a 2 speed semi-automatic transmission. No rust. I was an idiot to sell it for $50. The 48 Plymouth would have 90hp and 3 on the tree.

So, you have any idea who is behind this "Avant Garde" outfit? I've been out of the Oregon Porsche scene long enough to not have a clue..

I dread the day I decide to sell my turbo cab.

fastfredracing 09-29-2019 04:37 AM

we build em, not buy them

fintstone 09-29-2019 07:09 AM

Nice car, but I can't wrap my head around an SC being worth more than about $20-$25K.

john70t 09-29-2019 07:19 AM

The 2019 F150 starts at $44K and up.

That SC example looks "factory new" and a whole lot more fun. Just sayin'..

Nickshu 09-29-2019 08:41 AM

I bought my 82 SC in 1999 for $5000. Sold it in 2013 for $35,000. Wish I had bought 5 of them back then. :-)

I cannot wrap my head around paying $44K for a new truck either. I guess i will never own a new car. again.

I have bought 3 911s over the years...all nice, well-running, rust-free examples (still have 2 of them), one for $5K ('74) that was subsequent totaled in an accident, one for $10K ('74) and one for just over $20K ('89) if I recall. My newest car is a well-optioned 2004 Cayenne Turbo that I bought about 10 years ago...and it cost too much ($30K) with around 50K mi.

I think the BAT article mentions that "S Car Go Racing" in San Rafael, CA did all the mods.

European Carrera...far superior to the USA model '74 Carrera...mechanicals and engine pretty identical to the '73RS Carrera.

Same here, can't get used to the crazy high prices.

Nice to see the car getting driven in the video. Sounds glorious!

Reserve not met at 70.

Males me suspect it'll remain in current ownership for quite some time.

Yeah, long time.

fintstone 10-05-2019 07:36 AM

It must be an anomaly. I think both my cars are the equal if this one (depending on taste)...and would be shocked to break $35K if I sold and both would pass smog unlike this one.

manbridge 74 10-05-2019 08:56 AM

The money sunk into this one was likely north of 100K mainly due to all the labor. Still way too much at 70K for what is essentially a car for scenesters IMO.

Very nice car you have there. What would you think they sell for? They are rare but most people want a coupe. I have been thinking about thinning the heard in the past year only because I have not had a chance to drive them and have no idea what the selling pricing is only because there aren't many real Cabs sold in the past. When I do drive them, its work getting them out. A couple months ago, I drove her for about 30 min and forgotten how nice, solid, and mechanical it felt. No other car drive like it. Here's mine, an older pichttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1570433910.JPG
