Elissa is in......

Orientation at Duke for evaluation for lung transplant.

What a long road. 31 days she went in the hospital in Dallas for a cold and stayed for 29 days. She was discharged last Friday and with her scheduled flight to Duke on Sunday. As I write this she is in Orientation at DUKE.

I missed the other threads on this. What started this?

I was just in Germany the week before last, visiting an old friend whose daughter needed a liver transplant and got it. They had told the parents that the call was probably coming soon and to not plan to leave the country for the next six mos. A few weeks later the call came. Minutes later an ambulance arrived (near Cologne) and took mother and daughter to Hannover. Daughter was in the hospital for six weeks, but is all better now. Turns out the donor was a 30 year old and his live saved two kids' lives.

Honestly Gary, as a Dad I know that we must stay strong for our children and you sir are a model of fortitude.

All blessings for you and Elissa.
