Motorcycle transport....

I know all the auto transports as I have used them in the past. Are MC transports cheaper? Any recommendations?

Denver area to GA.

I have shipped motorcycles with https://motorcycleshippers.com, and uship.com. Both worked nicely and fair price. Uship is a bidding service, motorcycleshippers are direct billing.

No!!!! Don’t use HaulBikes! The single worst experience transporting a bike I’ve ever had. Ultimately had to cancel them and hire someone else through U-ship. Won’t go into detail here. If you’re seriously considering HB, PM me and I’ll explain.

Might be cheaper to have a friend with a class M license ride it to you. wink nudge

Or is it not operable?

Did you build that trailer yourself? Simple and robust... I like it but no suspension?

Have they actually picked up the bike? Are they bringing it to you directly? Or transporting to another of their facilities first?

After almost 3 weeks, they never picked up mine despite several commitments to do so. Were then going to drive within 3 miles of my home only to take it to a warehouse in Florida. It gets worse from there.

I think their business model is to generally pick up bikes and take them to one of their facilities so the loads can be better sorted to whatever part of the country a particular truck is headed towards. They haul quite a few bikes per truck, so this makes sense, when compared to car haulers that only haul six at a time.

That’s how they get to the prices they offer. I have shipped stuff for 400 bucks to the West Coast before, which is pretty cheap.

I have shipped a lot of cars and bikes and I am never in a hurry to get them from point A to point B, because when it makes more sense for the shipper, I get the best price. I’m more concerned about the quality of the truck and the driver and how they tie things down.

I’ve seen other people use all sorts of outfits, some of which I wouldn’t use. I’ve seen horror stories that you don’t want to repeat with anything you own…

That explains your Avatar.

BTW: "Das Boot" would have to be one of the best WW2 movies ever made!
