Race of Gentlemen, Wildwood, NJ 10/9/19- old cars and bikes

This race took place in my home town last weekend. I took some pics on my phone to post but having issues transferring. This race is held every year on our beach. I am not into the rod thing or old bikes but I must say it is quite an event, very cool. Many even dress the part of the 1950-1960 rodders. Fits right into my towns Mid century DooWop architecture. People come from all over the world. Met a contingent that came from London England to participate. Lots of young people involved very encouraging that the old car culture isn't dead yet.

A few photos of what's inside.

This guy and car "rail" kind of won the event. The engine apparently has some historical significance. It is an Indy 500 race prepped Hudson engine that came out of the Don Garlitz collection.

Sorry about the long links couldn't figure out how to shorten them. Two sources of photos from the event. Saddly they do not show as many bikes as were there. If I can transfer my photos I will post more. Some cool stuff. Enjoy.

Gotta love the flag girls...a critical part of the show.

There are videos of past events...reminders of the beginning of hot rodding. Great stuff.

Definitely one of my favorite yearly events I always attend.
Awesome group of people and machinery that show up for this.
