Elisse Got A Call-Back From Duke
Finally Heard from Duke.....
First Elissa Hase is in the transplant window and is a good candidate for Transplant. HOWEVER, she has another hoop to go through. She has 2 drugs she takes regularly. First is Sudafed and second Ativan. She must wean down off of both of them and show 2 clean drug tests over a 2 week span. The first drug test will be on Nov 6th. When that is clear they will start the relocation process. Funny thing is these 2 drugs and 1 is over the counter was prescribed to her by UTSW 4 years ago while she was going through transplant process there. Duke is very specific on their guidelines! Just wish they told us sooner while she was sitting 30 days in the hospital. So we jump though this hoop for Duke. 1 more month to keep Elissa from any other complications. Overall, still positive news. However, we were told a different story by the doctors when we were there. Transplant coordinator is the main focus to make sure everything is done before they say yes 100% I feel like a college applicant to a very prestigious program. |
So, so close. Thanks for the update. Do either of those drugs have withdrawal complications?

Great news! You guys have been down a road I couldn't imagine. Prayers, you all got this!

I'm never sure how to respond to threads about Elisse so generally I don't.
But I'm hoping for the best from the other side of the world! I really wish I could help in some way. Best of luck with everything. :) |
Oh man! Great news but such a nail bitter. Best of luck.

Ativan = Benzos https://americanaddictioncenters.org/ativan-treatment/withdrawal-timeline Sudafed = pseudoepinephrine (amphetamine / meth precursor) Less withdrawel physical issues, but can be a bit of a downer coming off them (mentally) note, i'm not an MD |
She's been going through difficulties her entire life. She's beyond tough. The incentive to go through all of this is a new lease on life. She'll do this just like she's done everything else!!
|
She is the toughest young lady I have ever heard of. You and your wife along with her have gone through unbelievable ups and downs.
She is an inspiration to me as I have gone through a small medical issue. Dave |
Sudafed and Ativan... blast from my past. Good luck! Wishing you and your family all the best!
