Need 160mm x 2mm x 20mm arbor cutting wheel
I need a new metal cutting wheel for my small chopsaw that I bought on eBay? years ago. The box says 160mm x 2mm x 20mm and I can't find any 5-6" metal cutting wheels with a 20mm arbor.
Anybody have a source?

McMaster Carr is usually a pretty good source for oddball things.

They have carbide blades in the sizes you’re looking for. I assume then that you’re looking for an abrasive blade and not a steel blade?

Yes, I have a toothed blade for cutting wood, but I broke the OE abrasive cutting wheel that I used for cutting steel and graphite golf shafts.

Well, the carbide blades will cut steel and graphite. You might look at those, if you aren’t cutting a whole bunch of things at a time. Just make sure you look at the rated speeds for the blades and compare that to your saw speed.

Thanks, if I can't find an abrasive wheel, I'll try a carbide blade. I worry about the graphite getting micro splinters, though, and then the shaft will break.

Well, maybe cut the graphite shafts with a cutting wheel on a Dremel tool.
Can you not get blades from whoever made the chopsaw? |

You should be able to use a 6" x 7/8" ID wheel with a 20mm to 7/8" bushing. Did you other cut off disk have a bushing in it?

It's a knock off "brand" I bought on ebay years ago. No name on original wheel either.

Original wheel did not have a bushing. Problem is I cannot find a 7/8" to 20mm bushing, either. Would a 22mm to 20mm bushing be close enough or dangerous?

Well, it sounds like this saw is more trouble than it’s worth. Maybe you should get another saw. The other alternative is to make your own bushing, any machine shop could whip one out in about five minutes.
