Looks like tomorrow is going to be the day with up to 14-footers on Lake Michigan. Still well below the record of 24-feet!

NPR a few days ago said the water levels on Lake Michigan are at 1984 record levels and expected to stay there for the the next few years.
They also covered the erosion rate the shoreline and people scrambling to protect their property before the lake claims it. The DNR permits take months for review and approval, and the department now overwhelmed with submissions because each has unique engineering and environmental considerations. |

"The sea was angry that day my friends. Like an old man trying to return soup at the deli"

I remember in the late 90s /early 2000s the water levels in Lake Huron were so low that 300-400 yards of lake bottom was exposed. Waterfront properties with docks were unusable. We put BMX wheels on our little boats to drag our duck hunting gear hundreds of yards just to get to the water.
And then there's the ice .... :D http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1571759523.jpg |
