There are other photos of him from backstage at that show. He doesn't look great, but doesn't look nearly as bad as news reports have made it sound. And he's obviously out and about in public.

Wow, I'd be sooo bummed if I found this out after the fact. Getting a selfie or whatever with EVH would be so much cooler than a Tool concert.

Good to hear he is feeling good enough to go see a concert with his son.

I would rather go as guy with his son than famous rock guitar legend, which would be the vibe if he goes backstage, maybe he feels the same way.
