Best way to send imac pictures to my iphone?
Want to put a few on instagram. Then I have several of those little square cards from the old digital cameras, how about those?
|
So you've got an iMac and an iPhone. Are they both connected to the Internet? If you are logged into both, then you should be able to send either via email, via the "cloud" or via "iMessage" (Apple specific text message that works via a network/Internet versus cell connectivity).

If I am in a hurry I just email them to myself. If this is solely for instagram then you may want to log into Instagram from your computer which I believe you can do.

Depending on the age of the phone and iMac, AirDrop. Photos will go directly into the photo album on the phone.
As for the memory cards, get a USB card reader for the type of card (SD, CompactFlash, etc), copy the files to the iMac, then you can AirDrop those as well. |
or stick them into Apple Notes

I don't see air drop on my iphone. it's on the imac. is there an update to get it

Air drop turns my hot spot off. No cable here in the woods. Any other thoughts?

Next best thing, text the images to yourself or email them to yourself. |
Thanks, will try that. I was hoping to send the entire folder to the phone, rather than one at a time.

You should be able to set up a folder on your iMac with the photos you want to move and sync through iTunes. I used to do it that way before switching to airdrop.

Yes. I created a folder on my desktop named Instagram. Photos meant for posting would be resized, etc and put in that folder. It was designated to sync through iTunes. I’d connect with the cable and a new album with a matching name would be updated in the phone photo gallery.
