I can't stop watching, circle track street car drag races

It's a little entertaining and a little interesting, but I can't stop watching.

Run what ya brung spectator drag races around a short paved circle track.

Some of the guys are clearly semi-serious. Some of the folks can drive. Some of the cars are modded. Some of the heats are surprising.

I get the impression that some of the folks are expecting to do better than they end up doing.

Some folks do a lot of tire spinning.

What really surprises me is how many folks on the outside STAY on the outside.

This one is a little more exciting than others.

Includes a grudge match from ^that^ one

There are lots more.

Here is a mishap compilation to remind you that bad things can happen.

I’d been watching these for a while. There’s a guy who drives a Mitsubishi EVO that blows the doors off everyone. Looks like fun.

Yep, I saw that guy. Clearly modified for more boost/power. The sad gives him a huge edge. I was surprised about some of the power and speed of some of the cars, like the one Chevy truck that won a lot.

I also thought it was interesting that some cars looked like they were going to be fast, but weren't and vice versa.

Once you run out of the "Oxford Motor Mayhem", then there's the "beech ridge spectator drags"

And they even have some just for trucks, and they may actually be even more entertaining than the cars. A few of these trucks ran with the cars in some of the other vids. Some of these trucks are VERY fast.

Thanks for posting those. Fun to watch and probably 10 times as much fun to do.

I watch them also. Id definatly participate if it were close by. Back when I was in high school 2002 ish our local drag strip was on the front straight of a circle track. It was alot of fun with my brothers 69 nova and my 240sx. The only thing I dont like about those races is the jackasses that crash into each other on purpose and they let them get away with it I remember one guy even won the pot after spinning somebody into the wall.
