It was probably 1985. I was 15 I skipped school and spent the day at my girlfriends house . She lived with her uncle who was a bit of an unusual chap .
She fell asleep, and I spent a rainy afternoon making cassette recordings of his lp records . There were a lot of them Diving into the Wish you were here, and Animals LP,'s probably changed the course of my musical interests for the rest of my life . To this day, DG remains one of my all time favorite guitarists . I used to study , and try to emulate his sound . That was a great watch, thank you . |
That was great, thank you.

I just watched a bit....will watch more later.
WYWH has always been my favorite PF album....and DG one of my favorite guitarists. His unmistakable, unique tone....just does "it" for me...takes about 3 notes to recognize imo. Shine on you crazy diamond :) Thanks! |
Dark Side and Wish You Were Here are Pink Floyd to me. I knew about Syd to a degree but the video really brought it home. Thanks for sharing.

And did we tell you the name of the game, boy
We call it riding the gravy train. Not Roger Waters. Roy Harper singing. David liked it but you could tell from his commentary Roy was a bit of a PITA drag on the recording initiative. Roger did not like it but said "nothing personal", I guess that's the English way. :D Cool. That factoid was worth the watch. Thanks. |
