New Robot Makes Soldiers Obsolete!
This looks good but I don't think it's legit. Sure they have advanced robots but the gun play is way over the top.

I'm not sure if that is real - but there is a firm with similar name that is real. Really fascinating. If I could ask them 1 question - 'what is the greatest break through?' I wonder what their reply would be?

Lol. It’s most definitely not real. Probably not far from the truth though.

Now all they need is that magical power source like in Terminator.
A robot like that may well be great for a clearing a building of bad guys, or arresting a bad guy barricaded in a building. It will never replace a soldier in combat unless it has a really long extension cord. |
Ima waitin' fer the political robots...we needs some more obsolescence!
|
It was done years ago in Robocop.

All forms of energy produce heat. The power cell in Terminator would need a giant radiator or cooling system to prevent it from meltdown. The power needed to run any robot we can make for very long is just not possible yet. Try running just a laptop with the processor doing heavy calculations for a few hours. Then add in the energy requirement to move that much mass very far and the magic power cell is going to be way beyond our technology. Maybe someday. |
Go look at videos of BD's Atlas five years ago vs todays, and tell me again "maybe someday". Someday is not far off looking at what they are already doing.
They are making leaps and bounds advancements in their technology, including the power systems. |
^^^Yes - astounding^^^^^

I have seen a DARPA robot at work and it is scary as hell, very unsettling - and that was just a rough terrain cargo carrier...

"I need your clothes your boots, and your motorcycle."
That line was stolen from one of the YouTube comments. It's well done and impressive. I was sucked in the first time I saw it. Then I saw Bosstown Dynamic on the robots chest and noted the robot moved way too much like a real person. |

I doubt that the best weapon against human soldiers is a 5’5” biped. |
Fake, not at all that far in the future.
|
in the future the robot won't have arms like that but arms like a squid or fast-moving snake...
|
It’s fake.
The robot’s shadow is a give away, it’s slightly lighter than the real shadows. You can see early on when the robot is standing next to the target stand with wheels at 46 seconds in. The robot’s overlapping shadow is lighter than the other shadow. At 2:26 minutes in you can see the real actor’s shadow where there should be a robot shadow. The bees out of the box are obviously fake as well. |
Meh, tactile emp and the whole army is down...
|
It's coming. Honeywell claims there will be single pilot airliners in five to ten years. Who knows what will be in the future.

When these become a reality, we'll have a machine that can decide to kill someone without any human input or cost. |
