Hello All,

I started a GoFundMe page to help a very deserving young man who is struggling to take care of his terminally ill mother with cancer, go to night school for mechanical engineering while working as an apprentice plumber.

My company, Richards Plumbing set up the GFM page to help with the hospice and final expenses as his mom has only weeks. She has pancreatic and kidney cancer.

The young man, Kirill is like a son to me. He is the most giving, honest and hard working person that I have come across in many a year.

He lives with his mom and has always been the man of the family. He joined our company 4 years ago and has been an exemplary employee. I got him interested in engineering and he has started night classes for mechanical engineering, and I see a great potential in him. He is ready to sell his car and other posessions for $

He has taken a leave of absence from work to be her caretaker but money is in very short supply. So, one of the younger folks at work suggested a GFM page.

I have never in my life asked anyone for money nor a handout, so this is new to me.

Timely. I was at a conference yesterday where I met a woman that runs CancerCare. They are based in Manhattan and provide many programs for cancer patients and their families no matter where they are based in the U.S. But, they do have specific financial aid programs for families in the boroughs.

Financial Assistance Program

They have been around for 75 years and offer an amazing amount of support yet not many people are aware that they exist. Call 800-813-HOPE (4673) and speak with a CancerCare social worker and they can help identify any funding available.

I will toss into the cause later today or tomorrow.

In the meantime have your friend reach out to Chive Charities to see what they can do for him.

I have been a green ribbon donor since 2015. It cannot hurt to try.
