Neighbor's new car

First, Happy Veterans day to all that served. Thank you for our Freedom!

So my neighbor seems to have a different car every few weeks and always cool. We don't talk much, but I gather he works for a local German car company. What is crazy to me is these cars are always parked on the street and everyone uses those automatic car washes that scratch the hell out of the paint.

I wonder...is it plugged into a "green" power source?

It has a nice dark red interior. No shifter of any kind, just a larger touch screen in the center console.

What happens when some yahoo comes along and unplugs it before it's charged up all the way and you want to use it?
You get to wait.

You carry a gasoline powered Honda generator!

How does it look size wise? I imagine smaller than a Panamera, but is it 4 door 911 size?

They can be very "green" here. It's strange when they compliment my wife's Rav4 hybrid.
He was driving a nice R8, so probably not a true environmentalist.
Seems like a good deal to drive those cars as part of your job.
I'm not in love with the looks, but I would not turn down having a few weeks to drive it.

David,
. It's wide and long and kind of blocking the narrow two lane road. I had to slow down and work my way past driving home. It looks way longer than the panorama, maybe due to the sharper angles of the front bumper.

Is that a 'public' charging station?

Yes it is. There's usually the small electric BMW there. I've also seen an i8 every so often. A lot of my neighbor's work for the Audi , Porsche or Mercedes.
I look real cool in my GTI.

I sat in one at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September... It is very close in size to the Panamera... only minimally smaller. Makes me think a Sport Turismo version would be a good follow-on model

The charger is locked into the port until the car hits 100%.

Then it releases.

In most cases with Chargeport terminals, you have a keyfob that you register and attach a credit card to, then you wave that at the charger to activate it. Once activated the car locks the charger to the port until it is completed charging.

Then someone can come along, move it to their car and re-activate it using their fob.
