Good cheap lego Porsches

FYI, If you've got a kid (or you are one) that's into legos or cars or Porsches or any combination of the above.

This is a fairly decent kit. I got this to do with my grandson. He's too young to do it himself, but he makes a great helper and is happy that "we put it together."

We built the 930 tonight. We'll hopefully get a chance to build the RSR tomorrow or Friday.

I’m a huge Lego and also Star Wars fan, and I have a great wife who gives me great gifts. So, I have the large GT3RS along with the Caterham and several SW sets. The literally big cheese was the Millennium Falcon I got last birthday. Yes, the one with 7541 pieces. I’m a lucky SOB!

Building Lego’s is pure therapy for me. I usually only build a little each day to get the max out of the building experience.

That was my draw, something to do with a very young kid. Something complex and large would be lost on him (and probably take far too long for his attention span). He really enjoyed the first car, and is dying to do the second. It looks like that might not be until next week.

I'm drawn to the GT3RS, but I wish it looked more like the car when completed. I would enjoy that sort of thing, but the time and space that it would take are outside of our normal lifestyle, and I didn't want to spend the $$$ for something that I'd build and then have to disassemble and put in storage.

Yeah, I agree the RS looks like crap when finished. I put my sets in the basement and rarely spend any time looking at them after they’re done. This Christmas the new Land Rover set is on my wish list.

I build Minecraft and Pixar Cars sets with my 5yo. Well, I build the big ones, and he the small ones (cars) and then we play with them. But they tale a LOT of room, that’s for sure! I have policy of always saving the intructions, so it’s remotely possible to re-build when they are destroyed.

Some of the big ones look pretty good when finished based on the marketing photos.
